Brinjac Engineering Fosters Launch of U.S. Operations for Global Technology Company

Harrisburg, PA -- Harrisburg ’s growing roster of advanced technology companies has been further bolstered today with the launch of Digital Samba USA, announced Mayor Stephen R. Reed and officials from Brinjac Engineering and Access Fiber Solutions Inc. Joining the Mayor for today’s announcement were John and David Brinjac, principals of Brinjac Engineering; Robert Strobl, Director of Operations for Digital Samba S.L. from Barcelona, Spain; David Hittinger, President of Digital Samba USA; Mike Starner, President of Access Fiber Solutions (AFS), and David Segal, Director of North American Sales for Digital Samba USA. The new company was formed through the merger of AFS, a division of Brinjac Engineering, and the former SpiderWeb Communications. AFS now holds the official rights for Digital Samba in the U.S. and much of the rest of North America. AFS and the new Digital Samba USA provide distribution services for all channels/markets offering web-based video conferencing solutions.

Also joining the group were Kelly Lewis, President of the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania , David Black, President of Harrisburg Regional Chamber, and Dr. Gerald Kohn, Superintendent of the Harrisburg School District . 

In conjunction with the official launch of Digital Samba USA , company CEO Michael G. Starner announced that the company is awarding a technology grant to the Harrisburg School District and the Harrisburg University of Science and Technology in the form of a one-year license to OnSync, an online communication, collaboration and distance learning solution. Students and faculty at the two institutions will have access to a ten-seat virtual classroom, enabling them to participate in collaborative projects and distance learning opportunities around the globe. Digital Samba will also provide free training and support to enable the schools to use the technology effectively. The grant package is valued at more than $11,000.

Starner, who sits on the boards of Big Brothers and Big Sisters and several other local government advisory boards, said: “We have always believed in supporting and giving back to our communities. As a Harrisburg-based company, we are proud to support the educational programs at the Harrisburg School District and Harrisburg University .
